Signing My Will in Davidson County, Tennessee

This man signed his will in Davidson County, Tennessee, in the early part of the 18th century. It is the only part of the document in his hand.

    It looks like Hopr for the last name--but it's Hooper. I'll post images from the rest of the document shortly. This is the only place Hooper signed the document.

  6. I believe the "artistic script" is the symbol that is made to indicate that this is where the official seal would have been applied or stamped. I have seen this in modern day use.
